Arrive in Lima in the morning. You will be met at the airport by our representative who will take you to your hotel for a 2-night stay including breakfast. You will have an introduction to the local area which is an opportunity for our guide to provide advice, explain your programme and answer any questions you may have.

Explore Machu Picchu and return to Cusco

The morning is free to explore. You may wish to climb Huayna Picchu, a steep climb but well worth it for the fantastic views of the valley and a different perspective of Machu Picchu. Alternatively, there is a gentle climb, back along the Inca Trail, to Intipunku the Gate of the Sun, and the first sight one has of the complex if walking the Inca Trail.

In the afternoon take the train to Cusco.

Spend the next 2 nights at La Casona, a beautifully 16th century manor house that has been harmoniously restored reflecting cultures and traditions across centuries.
