Tambopata Ecolodge is situated on the banks of the Tambopata River in the Tambopata National Reserve, a protected area located in the southeastern region of Madre de Dios. The lodge has delightful cabins made from wood and thatched with woven leaves and screened to protect from insects. By day, enjoy the remarkable attractions of the South American rainforest, while evenings can be spent relaxing and enjoying the restaurant and bar.
The lodge has 6 spacious suites, each with electricity. All rooms have private bathroom, comfortable beds fitted with mosquito nets, a chair, table and hammocks. There is no electricity supply in the superior rooms; at night lighting is provided by candles.
There is much to do and explore from the lodge on guided excursions to observe caiman, otters and many bird species.

Day 1 - On arrival at the airport in Puerto Maldonado, transfer to a motorised dugout canoe, for a magical journey on the Tambopata River to the lodge. Evening excursion by canoe, spotting caiman, their eyes gleaming a bright red in our torchlight (L,D).
Day 2 - After breakfast, we explore Condenado oxbow lake by canoe. Here, you will observe rich tropical vegetation, remarkable wetlands with a wide variety of exotic birdlife and aquatic creatures. Your guide will then take you on a walking tour of the rain forest where you will learn about the trees including the mighty Kapok tree which rises high above the forest canopy. After lunch, you are free to relax at the lodge. After dinner, enjoy a lecture from your guide of the caimans found in the forest after which we take to the water in search of this nocturnal species.
Day 3 - Return by river to Puerto Maldonado for your onward flight.
