The famous Tiger Leaping Gorge is one of the very best viewpoints of the Yangtze River. Fable has it that mighty tigers were so agile they could leap from one side of the river to the other.
You can either visit on your way between Shangri-La and Lijiang, or stay for longer and take a trek in the mountains above the gorge for an invigorating experience and unforgettable views.
