Sucre is Bolivia's constitutional capital and its most beautiful city. The small and elegant UNESCO heritage centre boasts shady plazas, quiet parks, magnificent museums and historic colonial buildings with perfect whitewashed façades. Reached via wonderful day trips from Sucre are the vibrant Sunday market of Tarabuco and the poignant Cerro Rico silver mine of Potosi. Just outside the city is a collection of dinosaur footprints leading up a 70 degree 300 foot limsetone wall at Cal Orko.
