This lovely full day excursion starts with a visit to the Robert Burle Marx Estate for a guided tour. He was a world famous landscape designer, who designed many gardens in Rio, including Flamengo Park, and many others all over Brazil. The estate itself is home to thousands of plant species, a 16th century Benedictine chapel and the original farmhouse and studio.
The second part of the day sees us visit the Pontal Folk Art Museum, which boasts a fine exhibition of Brazilian culture and has over 5,000 pieces by more than 200 Brazilian artists. It is set in a beautiful setting, located between the sea and the Grumari Range Ecological Reserve. On the journey back along the coastline into Rio you pass the beautiful Prainha Beach, as well as Barra and Sao Conrado where you can stop for a refreshing coconut water drink or one of Rio's famous Caipirinhas.
