Fursdon House has evolved from a modest cob and thatch dwelling to the elegant Georgian manor house you see today. The Fursdon family has lived on this site since 1259 and behind its façade lie centuries of history.
Sadly due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are unable to open Fursdon House itself to the public this year. However, we very much hope that in 2021, we will once again be able to offer a tour of the house, during which you would hear about the evolution and fluctuating fortunes of a family steeped in the tradition of land ownership and farming. Meanwhile, for the remainder of the season until the end of September 2020, visitors can delight in the beautiful gardens and grounds with stunning views in every direction, and enjoy refreshments or a traditional home-made Devonshire cream tea in the courtyard of the Coach Hall tea room. The Coach Hall can also be hired for small corporate events.
Additionally, there is a lovely Victorian cottage available for holiday accommodation. Fursdon also hosts a very small number of special wedding receptions each year and can cater for small corporate events.
