Travel through breathtaking mountain scenery, tumbling waterfalls, rural farmland and misty cloud forests.

Built on the rocky slopes of the Andes, the Devil's Nose Train represents an early twentieth century feat of engineering and is the perfect introduction to Ecuador's world-class train system. Passengers travel from Alausi to Silambe through breathtaking mountain scenery, tumbling waterfalls, rural farmland and misty cloud forests, on a 7.5 mile journey. A series of ingenious system switchbacks allows the track to rise 500 metres in elevation as it climbs the steep slopes. The trains have now been fully refurbished, making them modern and comfortable, a far cry from the steam-powered days when passengers would sit perilously on the roof as the train rattled past sheer drops down huge vertiginous cliff faces.

Services have now re-started and are available to book.
