Itinerary Description

Day 1 - Fly to Quito 

Depart the UK on your flight to Quito, arriving in the same evening. You will be met by our representative and taken to your hotel where you will stay for four nights on a bed and breakfast basis. Briefing and introductory walk with your guide.

Day 2 - Guided tour of Quito 

Today enjoy a guided tour of Quito, completely adaptable to your family's interests, including the old colonial centre, the Gold Museum, the Cathedral and main square with the impressive Presidential Palace. (B)

Day 3 - Quito at leisure or choose an optional excursion

A free day to either further explore Quito perhaps taking a ride in the cable car up the side of the Pichincha volcano for magnificent views over the city. Or choose from a range of optional excursions including a visit to the famous Avenue of the Volcanoes and the awe-inspiring Cotopaxi Volcano. (B)

Day 4 - Visit Otavalo market

Today enjoy an included visit to nearby Andean towns, villages and the famous Otavalo Market. Strolling around Otavalo on market day is a festival for the eyes. You will see people selling textiles, jewellery, hats, native art and woollen jumpers, as well as all kinds of exotic fruit and vegtables. A chance to try your haggling skills with the merchants. (B)

Plaza Sucre

Quito - Tourist Hotel

The Hotel Plaza Sucre is located at the very heart of Ecuador's capital, in the historical downtown named by UNESCO as a Human Heritage site in 1978, because of its architectural beauty and cultural richness. The sober and colonial atmosphere of the hotel makes you feel being transported to the republican era. Breakfasts are served in a wonderful rooftop patio with great views of "El Panecillo" statue which towers over the city.

This delightful 22 room hotel has been converted from an original Colonial townhouse, and is located on the pedestrian La Ronda street, close to many bars and restaurants. The rooms are comfortable and traditionally styled, decorated with fabricsand patterns from local communities. The hotel alos has a small lounge and fireplace, and serves local cuisine and Ecudorean wines.

Itinerary Description

Day 5 - Fly to the Galapagos Islands

Transfer to the domestic airport and fly to the Galapagos Islands. On arrival, transfer to your chosen cruise ship for your 7 night cruise on a full board basis including guided excursions every morning and afternoon. (B,L,D)

Days 6-11 - Galapagos Islands Cruise

A cruise in the Galapagos Islands is a magical family experience. Just imagine the delight in your children's eyes when they are able to see birds and wildlife who have no fear of humans. It's quite surreal. During your chosen cruise you will be able to take walking tours with your expert Naturalist guide, experienced in speaking about the islands' wildlife from the child's point of view. Discover marine and land iguanas, blue and red footed boobies, penguins and the giant tortoises of Santa Cruz. Swimming with playful sea lions can be one of the main highlights for children and adults alike. And the snorkelling in the Galapagos Islands is perfect for children as there are so many species to observe in safe, shallow and warm waters.

Following each excursion, your family will return to your ship for meals and talks aimed at all ages on the next island to be visited. The ships and guides are also able to provide games, books and dvd's to keep the family entertained. (B,L,D)

Day 12 - Departure

Disembark your ship after breakfast and fly back to mainland Ecuador, to connect with the return overnight flight to the UK. (B)

Arrive in the UK in the morning.

Cruises -

The Samba was built in Holland with teak decks in 1966 it is now a perfectly well converted cruise yacht to explore the Galapagos Islands. She accommodates 14 guests, a perfect number to enjoy the magic of the Islands with privacy and flexibility. Its professional, experienced and friendly crew and naturalist guide are devoted to showing you everything that makes the Galapagos Islands such a unique and special environment.

On the main deck there is an outside area with reading, resting and also eating space; and inside, there is a dining salon with library with TV/VCR and Stereo. Here is where briefings and conference-talks are given and planning about next day activities. The upper deck has an outside dinning area and sun protection, ideal for watching the abundant bird and marine life. The Foredeck has enough space for sun bathing or just to relax.

The ample and comfortable space on deck makes this boat ideal for nature and photography cruises. One naturalist guide  presents an evening briefing on the Galapagos wildlife and activities and accompanies guests on the morning and afternoon excursions on the islands.

The accommodation includes all meals (Full Board), all transport, daily guided excursions, while drinks and the Galapagos Park Fee of usd 100.00 per person are extra.

There is snorkelling equipment available aboard available for hire but wetsuits need to be requested and ordered in advance.Both are payable locally. Departures on Tuesdays.

Galapagos Islands - First Motor Yacht

The first class motor-yachts Eric & Letty are sister ships specially designed for cruising the Galapagos, each with a 20 passenger capacity.

Each yacht has 10 cabins over three decks, some with twin lower berths and some with double beds; 2 cabins are also available as triples, with twin lower berths and an upper berth. The cabins all fully air-conditioned and have private facilities with hot showers and hair dryer, as well as fresh towels.

Interiors are of polished teak wood with a dining room, bar and lounge area with TV, VCR and book/video library. There is also a sun deck on top of the yacht with seating and both shaded and unshaded areas. Each boat has a crew of 9 plus 2 expert naturalist guides.
