Mindo Cloud Forest

Venture into the mysterious cloud forest to discover its tropical bird life and exuberant vegetation.

This trip takes you out of the capital Quito to the small village of Mindo, located on the western side of Pichincha mountain, two and half hours by road from Quito. It is one of the best places in Ecuador to experience a tropical cloudforest area, with its many diverse plants and animals. You will enjoy a walk with your naturalist guide, who will point out the many species of plants found here, including many with medicinal properties. They will also help you to spot the exotic birds, including at least 8 or 9 species of hummingbirds at feeders, as well as perhaps some butterflies, reptiles and mammals. You will be taken along pristine trails and have lunch in one of the most incredible locations in Ecuador.
