Cuernavaca is the largest city of the state of Morelos. Nicknamed the "city of eternal spring" by Alexander von Humboldt, it boasts an excellent climate all year round. Located only 84 km south-west of Mexico City, is a popular destination for both Mexicans and visitors looking to escape the city, offering beautiful parks and gardens with bandstands, impressive cathedrals and churches and charming haciendas. Cuernavaca is usually combined with a trip to the hillside mining town of Taxco, noted for its winding cobbled streets, interesting architecture and silver jewellery production.
