Holbox is a quiet island off the coast of northern Yucatan, an oasis of peace with an abundance of natural attractions.

Located three hours north of Cancún, this largely uninhabited island is an oasis of peace and quiet blessed with a warm, breezy climate and an abundance of natural attractions. It forms part of one of Mexico's national eco-reserves due to its tropical forests, wild beaches, underwater caves and exotic fauna, such as dolphins, whale sharks and flamingos.

Holbox can be reached in 2-3 hours from Cancun; first by road to the north coast of the peninsula, then making the short crossing to the island by boat.
