Guided tour of Merida
Enjoy a guided tour through the historical sites of Mérida, called "White City" and capital of the state of Yucatán. An elegant mixture of colonial and neoclassical architecture characterise the city, which you will discover during a combination of walk and drive to see the main square with the Cathedral, Government Palace, Town Hall and House of Montejo, as well as the Paseo Montejo with the beautiful mansions which formerly were living residences of wealthy families. Haciendas, cenotes & Izamal
We head out of Merida today and visit Hacienda Ednakán and Chunkanan town, where at their hight, existed large Agave plantations for natural Sisal fibre production that brought huge wealth to the region. Observe the fields and learn about how Haciendas functioned in the past. We then visit 3 cenotes (sinkhole lakes) where you can take a refreshing dip in the cool water.

In the afternoon we visit Izamal with its buildings painted in yellow. Here, we visit the impressive ex monastery of San Antonio de Padua with its elegant archways around the main church yard.
