Depart early from the train station at Ollantaytambo to catch the Vistadome train to Machu Picchu Pueblo, at the foot of the famous ruins. The train journeys affords spectacular views of the Andean scenery, turning more tropical as it approaches the cloud forest in which Machu Picchu is perched.
Upon reaching the final stop, you will take a short bus ride up the winding road to reach the entrance to Machu Picchu. Here you will enjoy a guided tour by one of our local experts, learning about the remaining structures and imagining what life would have been like here during Inca times and the extraordinary efforts and expertise required to build such a place. There will be ample time to explore, take photos and see the llamas wandering around. In the afternoon, take the train back down to the Sacred Valley.
