All along the Southern coast, especially around Punta Del Este, are South America's most glamorous and expensive resorts.
Although the mention of Uruguay evokes delicious food, good wines and countryside landscapes with Haciendas and Gauchos, the country's coast is nevertheless a playground for celebrities and billionaires. All along the Southern coast, especially around Punta Del Este, are South America's most glamorous and expensive resorts. Already beloved by Argentines and Brazilians, more and more Europeans are attracted by these beautiful white sandy beaches, where elegant seaside mansions and villas neighbour marinas and gastronomic restaurants.
On the Brazilian border, the small fishing village of Punta del Diablo remains a little wilder, with its long sandy beaches and immense dunes, still very well preserved. In the south of Uruguay, along the Rio Uruguay river, the small town of Carmelo is also a pleasant seaside destination. The banks of the river, where many luxury hotels succeed one another, are a good alternative to the Atlantic coast sandy beaches.
