Perched on the hillside and connected by a labyrinth of streets, staircases and lookout points, Valparaiso is filled with beautiful architecture.

Valparaíso is Chile's largest port, surrounded by hills filled with multicolored houses and connected by a labyrinth of streets, staircases and lookout points. Between these hills and the sea lies a downtown area filled with beautiful architecture. The has welcomed new boutique hotels, bookstores and art galleries, but you can't leave Valparaiso without taking a ride on its funicular railways, which take you from the street level up into the hills, giving a magnificent view over the bay. The city is also famous for its New Year's celebration, which features an incredible 30-minute long fireworks display.
