Santiago is situated at the foot of the Andes, with nearby wine tasting and hiking opportunities.
Santiago de Chile is one of the most modern cities in Latin America, situated in an enviable position at the foot of the Andes in central Chile, at the point where the Mapocho and Maipo rivers meet. The towering snow-capped mountains is an incredible sight and gives the city an impressive setting.
Santiago's modern district is home to sleek high-rise office and apartment buildings in metal and glass, home to high class restaurants and international businesses. The centre of the city around the Plaza de Armas is still a slightly ramshackle affair, with old men playing chess in the square, and government workers bustling around the turn of the century buildings of the various ministries and central bank. The Italian-designed Presidential Palace, 'La Moneda' is impressive in white stone and covers a whole city block, with a beautiful ceremonial square in front.

A huge thanks to Veloso Team. Everything went very smoothly which considering the number of flights, meetings, hotels, guides etc. was a miracle. Well done.
We both thoroughly enjoyed our holiday from Veloso Tours, so 2/2 tours excellent to date. As a self-drive, your ground agent did track us down to see if things were going OK.
Our holiday worked well due to the suggestions Nick put in. Our guides were always early so there was no hanging out. Hotels and excursions exceeded expectations. We had the holiday of a lifetime.
Thank you for this wonderful holiday. The experience has remained fresh in our memories. The outstanding scenery was matched by our guides' quality whose knowledge and care never failed to impress.
Guides were excellent and really loved their countries. It was the first time we had personal guides and we were very impressed with them all. Always on time for pickups and nice clean vehicles.
Thank you for all times and effort that went into our fabulous holiday. No complaints. Except that 4 weeks is unfortunately too short for visit these places.
Everything was perfect so due credit goes to Veloso Tours for all your excellent organisation.
We were looked after admirably throughout our trip. All guides were kind and considerate of us, and covered all aspects of our day to day needs.
All guides without exception were informative, friendly and punctual. Skorpios was the highlight of the trip with friendly crew and amazing food.
There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to put these packages together so seamlessly, so please pass on our thanks to all those who played their part! We enjoyed being treated as VIP's!
